Faisalabad GC Women University Marks World Book Day with Awareness Session and Walk

Government College Women University Faisalabad (GCWUF) organized an informative session to commemorate World Book Day, aiming to promote a reading culture among students. The event was jointly arranged by the Learning Resource Center and the Society for Reading and Knowledge.

Renowned poet, artist, and entrepreneur Adnan Baig attended the ceremony as the chief guest. In his address, he highlighted the deep connection between art and book reading, stating that books play a crucial role in shaping human consciousness and personality development.

Dr. Saima, Convener Library, emphasized that reading enhances mental growth and critical thinking. She noted that such initiatives are vital in encouraging students to engage in the pursuit of knowledge.

Organizers Rana Muhammad Abid and Librarian Misbah Bashir also spoke on the occasion, stressing that the habit of reading is essential for character building and personal development. Misbah Bashir urged students to adopt regular reading habits to expand their intellectual horizons.

An awareness walk was also held to underline the importance of book reading, with a large number of students and faculty members participating enthusiastically.

The event concluded with a renewed commitment to strengthen the connection between students and literature in the digital age, with a special focus on fostering a book-friendly culture among female students.
