CCD Police Encounter Leaves One Criminal Dead

In Faisalabad, a police encounter conducted by CCD resulted in the death of a wanted criminal

According to the CCD spokesperson, Inspector Iqbal Khan and Sub-Inspector Ali Akram were on patrol with their team when they came under fire near Chak No. 65 JB while heading towards Chak No. 64 JB. Three unidentified suspects on motorcycles opened fire upon seeing the police.

The police retaliated in self-defense. During the encounter, the suspects took cover in nearby fields and continued firing under the cover of darkness. One of the suspects was injured by firing from his own accomplices, while the others managed to escape.

The injured suspect was shifted to Allied Hospital but succumbed to his injuries. He was identified as Ghulam Murtaza, son of Ashiq Hussain, a resident of Chak No. 323 JB.

Police stated that the deceased was a record holder with over 25 criminal cases registered against him, including cases under sections 465/22 and 392/411/34. A search operation is underway to arrest the fleeing suspects.
